What is the problem that you're solving and that your business is supposed to solve?

Roxana: Prague is becoming a multicultural city and now there are a lot of ex-pats and immigrants. And well, I belong to one of them, I'm part of the Latin community as a Mexican. When we move abroad, we also bring a few of our traditions and I discovered that the Mexican community in Prague is big and quite united. They cooperate. And well, we started to prepare for this festival, called Dia de Muertos. All the community got involved and then it became quite successful because also the locals embraced it and they were curious about why we were celebrating that. Slowly, we started doing different activities to show them our culture. And to show them that specifically, this day is not about death, but about life and the lives of those who have passed away, and they just bring the memories back to us. In this regard, I see also the need for more spaces to project ourselves and our culture and to spread it among the Czech locals. And I think there is a big market. I think the people is a bit to learn about other cultures that are respectful and I think that's the main idea - to share and spread the culture.

To whom is your product relevant and who is your customer?

Roxana: I have two kinds of customers. The first one is adults with children, and families with children because in our events they will find a way to entertain kids through cultural activities. They will learn about other cultures, Mexican, Venezuelan, Colombian, and Latin American as well. And also the adults without kids use single adults that they want to enjoy a day having fun and enjoying and embracing Latin cultures and Latin roots. And well after this event, some of them are just 100% cultural while others are just partying. And I think that since we know how to party.

So what's unique about your product?

Roxana: The vibe. What makes my events different is the vibe. Is 100% authentic because the community supports those events and they are there and laugh. They smile, and they are happy to share and spread their culture. So if a Czech look, I'll go there to these events, they will enjoy it and they will feel welcomed. Also, we are inviting other communities in Dresden and Vienna. Like other Latins, they are coming, and they feel like they belong. And it's so nice when you as an immigrant, feel your roots are well, well expressed, and also I think as a local you get amused by the culture and learn without having to travel.

To sum up the project. What did you gain from it, what did you like, and what was your experience in general?

Roxana: Being in the workshops, in the camp helped me give a structure to my project and to focus on the parts I was not working on or lacking, for example, budget or trying to find different strategies of marketing. Because these events are more or less pro bono, working under a budget or without a budget is quite complicated and I thought it won't be possible. But being in the Ideas market start up your idea was great because my vision got amplified. I'm not only thinking in my box and this is the way I should do the things I get so much feedback... Also, words of empowerment helped me to believe in myself.
